I thought maybe I could adopt a little ADV ferret & send a small gift. We don't have much but we want to share. I went to the ADV Giving Tree. All of those that asked for a little something were taken, they had Santa's. There were several that only asked, not for themselves, but for money to be donated to ADV research. NONE of them had Santa's. I thought, "Well this won't work, it isn't a gift for any of these ferrets. They can't play with it or eat it or snuggle in it". Now reading today's FML I see where someone else thought the same way. BUT.........it would be a gift FOR these little ones, FROM these little ones. Isn't that what Christmas & gift giving is all about? Sure it makes us feel good to give gifts that can be used by the one receiving them &these ADV kids can't "use" donations towards a disease that is killing them. So then what? We don't give them the gift they want? What if.......just what if, through donations towards ADV research a cure is found that will help the ones that already have it? What greater gift could they get? What greater gift could they give than a cure for ADV? Kind of selfish of us not to see it this way don't you think? So.......none of those ADV kids are going to get a toy, a hammie, a snuggle sack, a warm blanket, or treats from me. Nope I am going to give a small donation to ADV research instead. Who knows how many kids it could help? So if there is anyone else out there that thinks that donating money for ADV research isn't a good enough, personal Christmas gift..........think again. Pick one of these fur kids & make a donation in their name. Lynn & Clan War Weasels & War Weasels Refuge [Posted in FML issue 3631]
