Hi Everyone, Thank goodness someone posted about this before because I all but freaked out last night. My mom came to see the new babies and I had to clean the cage so I took the top off the bottom and she saw them laying in there. Maggie came out first, Raphael(nickname bear even though he is the littlest) was next and Ariel was not moving. Of course my mom(gotta love her) is saying he is not moving something is wrong. I lift him out of his sleep sack which is the kind that splits in the middle and I go oh my god honey he is dead. I was sure he was dead. Our two older ones sleep soundly but never as limp as this little one was in my hands but he was warm. I moved him, checked his eyes and still nothing. So I laid him down in his hammy since he was breathing to see if he would move and sure enough he wiggled and moved as if to say why did you wake me up. We had even laid him on the carpet and he would not move. It was quite scarey but I am glad I had read about it before and glad mom who is our "grammie pet sitter" got to see what they can do. They sure have taught us alot. We are pretty sure now that Ariel is deaf so he does not hear us move the cage or anything. Speaking of deaf how do you really tell? I shake balls next to his ears, around him, in front of him, etc, snap fingers but nothing, no flinch or interest. I do the same thing to the others and they respond immediately. We had planned on only getting Maggie but she brought her two brothers along with her :-). Now I understand why. Ariel may be deaf and need extra care(no problems I am use to deaf cats and dogs) and Rapahel(bear) who is so tiny only weighing in at 8.6oz. Maggie is the biggest at just over 10oz. Thanks to everyone for all your wonderful posts. They have saved many a worry for me. Thanks again Love & angel hugs Debbie [Posted in FML issue 3627]
