It's a hypothesis, but one with a reasonable premise. Years ago someone in your situation (hot area) made large sleep boxes with baffle entries and sheet covers for the entries to reduce light but leave enough air-circulation. If really hot you might also consider a baffled "chimney" for heat to escape through; even one 90' angle should reduce the light influx, whether you are using hard materials or soft ones. If hard materials, I have known of people who put in tiles on floors to help ferrets lose excess heat. Glueball did a fine thing two days ago. I was in the bathroom (Yes, our ferrets know what happens in there.), and Glueball had given up on joining me and instead visited Steve in the living room. Steve asked her where I was and she dashed over to the litter pot, pointed to it, jumped in and (not using it) and stared at him. He broke up. >hi. i've had mollie since april. she was VERY little when we got her, >(petsmart) 6 or 7 weeks. when i used to give her chewy stars, she would >grab them and scream really loud Try times-out in a non-fun place (even if that means short ones in a carry cage) in case she is a bit bratty about possessions but ALSO get her a dental vet-check. I've seen things like this with dental eruptions errors (such as a retained baby tooth causing an abscess). Face shortness as some individuals have can also made dental eruption harder and lead to "chewier" kits from some breeders. A retained deciduous tooth is a possibility if one got trapped between erupting adult teeth. [Posted in FML issue 3602]
