I apologize if this has been answered already, as I am behind in my reading, but the ladybug thing has been dealt with a lot in our newspaper, so here goes. The orangey ladybugs that are invading everywhere are Asian lady beetles, an invader. They are good for the garden, etc. as they eat lots of aphids, but, unlike the red ladybugs, they do bite! People too! However, it isn't horrible, less than a mosquito and I do not believe that they would poison anything unless they ate a lot of them. My dogs and cats are having a ball with them and show no signs of illness. You can vacuum them up, but be sure to dispose of the bag or they will just get out. They come in the house in the winter to stay out of the cold. They like lights. Hope this helps. Jean in MI [Posted in FML issue 3570]
