Our Ferretguy asks if all oranges work (for pest repellent) or if it's
only the Osage orange. It's only the Osage, which is probably not an
'orange' at all. It was named 'Osage' because the Osage (one of our
Native American nations) used the wood of this tree for their bows, so
perhaps they are the ones to have referred to the fruit as an 'orange'.

By the way, the item in question is lime green, not orange in color. I'm
still amused by the web site suggesting the Osage Oranges be backed over
by a car to get the best results as a pest repellent.

Ferretguy's question got me to thinking about those orange and clove
things, called pomanders. I think I'll make some as ferret room
fresheners, so THANK YOU Ferretguy!
