Yes, even though your ferrets are not at risk to spread the disease, you
should test for it.  Many vets with a lot of experience with adv are now
suggesting that adv positive ferrets don't get annual vaccinations or have
surgeries, as both can provoke the symptoms of adv to appear.  So knowing
if your fuzzies are positive can help you to make informed decisions about
their care.
