Hi, all. My new project is trying to get someone to adopt two pet store ferts that have lived their whole lives (5 and 7 months) in half of a Marshall Farms aquarium cage (they only get half b/c the other half is for all the new kits...). They are the sweetest boys, especially considering that that's how they've had to live. The Petco they're at (Auburn, MA) takes good care of them-really clean ears, clipped nails, clean bedding-but that's no way to spend your life. I'd take them in a second, but we just moved and my fiance doesn't want more... :( I visit them every other day. If you know anyone that wants two boys (I think it'd be really hard on them to be separated after so long together), let me know. I'll get them myself and bring them somewhere-CT, NH, MA, RI... Petco is willing to sell them two for the price of one ($99) (not an advertised special-the manager, Tammy, told me that privately, as I expressed interest in trying to find them a forever home-she wants them to stay together, too); a sweet albino and a dark boy (don't know the name for his coloration). I can help perhaps with some of the finances. They do get occasional treats (I was going to buy them a box, but the kid working there gave me a box to give them free-all the staff feels bad that they're still there) and the staff tries to give them as much attention as they can, but they really don't get a lot and they never get to really run around. They're VERY kissy and fun and nice-tempered. If someone wants two sweet babies who are attached to each other, I'll be MORE than happy to help get them to someone and have a real home... I know we don't always want to buy pet store ferrets and encourage the big breeders to churn out more, but the kits keep coming and going at this particular store, but these two babies keep lingering... Please help! I get sad every time I have to leave them-I really wish I could have them! Please email me privately and I can help you with who to talk to and more info.
