Yes, they exist.  No, Marshall Farms is not the only farm or breeder to
suffer imposter ferrets.  No, there are not going to be a lot of public
reports because posting those could possibly cause problems for some
investigations.  If being mum means that some doing this get caught then
that's a lot more important than anyone's curiosity.  It's a hard crime to
control because it doesn't appear to be like an organized crime situation,
instead it is a "solution" hit upon independently by far too many of
those who are among the "worst-of-the-worst" spread around the nation:
disreputable distributors who don't give a hoot about things like ADV, the
back yard breeders with inbred and sickly stock, those unloading fur fitch
that are not from pet stock so are bred for their coat characteristics
rather than for health, longevity, or behavior, etc.  This country really
needs some pet abuse laws and punishments -- with teeth -- that extend
across state lines.
