Sorry for the crosspost, well, um, not really. I have a question. I just went to the vet at 6 AM this morning because one of my cats was having respiratory distress. She was diagnosed with an upper respiratory disease (i.e. a cold), but luckily had not entered the lungs (pneumonia/bronchitis is nasty). This is very contagious to other cats (I have 4), so she is upstairs in the walk in closet (huge, has a recliner in it and 3 book shelves along with a lamp. My "get-away spot). I have 14 year old hyperglycemic cat with a compromised immune system, so they have to keep apart. OK, that is the background. My vet said that the war chiefs cannot catch anything form felines, but that they can catch my cold/flu. I am pretty sick at the moment, but am the caretaker of all the animals. Is it OK for me to handle the ferrets? My BF cleaned the litter boxes and fed/watered them, but they are used to playing with me 2 hrs in the AM and 2 in the PM. Should I leave them alone for a few days? And can they catch my cold or the cats cold? Gail [Posted in FML issue 3553]
