Hi Everyone, thank you all so much for your care and concern on the bad reaction that our Boo Boo had to the shots yesterday. The screaming and crying was something I have never in my life heard a ferret do, and I pray to God that I never have to hear it again. The going limp on the floor was him I'm told, going into a shock, and the great amount of blood in the carrier that was from his urine and feces was his shedding his stomach lining from the terror he went through. The vet called today and finally admitted that we almost lost our Boo Boo, and he is only 1 years old. Boo Boo is doing fine today, a little off balance, but back to the normal, crazy, bouncy Boo Boo that we know and love. It's that time of year again when the other 5 of our ferrets need their shots, and boy, now I am terrified from what Boo Boo went through. We did pretreat with Benadryl, we did stay at the vet for over an hour, but this still did not help him not have a reaction, and he is our largest ferret. Some of your email suggested that I not vaccinate the rest, some were againts me not vaccinating, some were agreeable, and I thank each of you for your email. I am just scared right now, and I think that for now I'm just going to get over the trauma that Boo Boo and I went through yesterday, as the others are not due to be seen till the end of this month. Thank you again for your concern, suggestions and Sue, thank you so much for the site you emailed me. LYNN [Posted in FML issue 3497]
