I attended the Buckeye Bash in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend with some of my ferrets. I had a good time at the show - visited with old friends, put faces with familiar names, saw gorgeous ferrets, sold some beds and hammocks, brought home ribbons. (I really like the new Companion class!) I TRIED to keep my hands in my pockets as much as possible......resisting touching, kissing, etc., all those wonderful fuzzies at the show. Well, most of them. (It didn't help that PamT. from the Cincinnati club bought the most adorable kit from Scarlet!) I TRIED to keep my ferrets from being handled by strangers.......they were in their own Plexiglas playpen or carriers with "Do Not Touch" signs. But, Bruno has that "Pick Me Up" pleading look in his eyes and loooooves people. (He was an absolute kissy ferret-slut when he met a certain bearded FuzzieDad!!!) I TRIED to remember to minimize risk of spreading germs to my ferrets at home by showering/changing...........but it was almost midnight by the time I got home and still had ferrets waiting for their turn for my attention. (It was "easier" to let them out and fall asleep on the couch while they played.) Even with good intentions, I could have brought ANYTHING home. I've been keeping an eye on my whole gang....so far everyone is fine. PamV in Cincinnati ps......Thanks HOFA for a fine show. And thanks to the judges who brought Sables tooth problem to my attention. (Some time between Wednesday when I cleaned her teeth and Saturdays' show she broke off one of her canines! Her gums are already sore and red, so she's headed to the vet....poor baby!) [Posted in FML issue 3524]
