well this is my first post to the group, but have been reading fml for a while..... my little girl jimmy was only 10 months old, she never did get into much trouble, she was great! but the other day she was acting sluggish, never seeing this before i rushed her to the vet.... the vet said she had three little ojects that look like pills. or round.... she said since she is lethargic, she would not operate as it might kill her, so for the next 2 1/2 days they had her on fluids, me not knowing any better i let them do this, she was becoming grave, so i called all around and found a good ferret doctor, that was getting to leave his office but would like to see her... so i call the other vet to get her ready to go, they put me on hold for 10 minutes, then came on and said sorry, jimmy passed five minutes ago!!!!.. i am so distraught...... didnt even get to say good bye or get her good help... well this all said. if something like this happens, next time, i am going to take them to a ferret specific vet or one that knows more.. but any other suggestions, i have my room, pretty much ferrfet proofed, but if this would happen again do i demand surgery? or is there soemthing i could have given her to help her pass it out? please feel free to email me directly or to the group, thanks. brian s.
