I forwarded this to this list because of my excellent experience with this campground and my ferrets. We on vacation with our 4 ferrets and it went wonderful. All four had more fun than the two of us together. It was no trouble at all registering with the ferrets. The owner knew what they were and what they were about. She just made sure that they would have leashes when outside and that we would clean up after them. The site was perfect for us and the ferrets. I'll keep this short, if anybody wants any info of my experience or any tips, email me off list. They boys had no trouble sleeping in their carrier when they were being petsat at the camp owners house. I had to wake them up when I came back for them. ( I was worried that they were going to be upset not seeing Mike or me and not being in a familiar enviroment, didn't bother them at all. They were so passed out that the couple said that they didn't hear the ferrets at all and had to check on them to make sure they were still breathing. LOL Those crazy fuzzbuts! They were tired from being outside all morning. ) We all had a fun and enjoyable experience. Hi all, Amy and I got back from our vacation yesterday. We found a beautiful campground in PA that is ferret friendly! The campground is Sunrise Lake Family Campground, located in Nicholson PA, about 20 miles north of Scranton. The sites are absolutely gorgeous! The camp is clean, well cared for, located in some beautiful scenery. There are sites for tents, trailers, RV's ( pull throughs available) and some trailers are available to rent. They have clean restrooms with showers, a game room, camp store, picnic/party pavilion, lake with paddle boats, pool and a very nice playground for the kids. They also have hay rides. Phyllis and Herman Birster, the owners will even baby-sit your ferrets in a clean air conditioned home for you while you visit the local attractions! They will ask that they not have to do any ferret care ( they like ferrets, but have little experience with them) and that the ferrets be in a secure carrier while being babysat. There may be a nominal fee for the babysitting, depending on how long you will be gone. I highly recommend the campground to anyone traveling with their ferrets, or even anyone traveling through the area! they do have a website, http://www.sunriselakefamily.com/ The mailing address and phone number are: Sunrise Lake Family Campground P.O. Box 275 Nicholson PA 18446 570-942-6421 Check out their website for some of the attractions nearby. [Posted in FML issue 3492]
