Hello, This is one of the hardest emails I've ever had to write. I am closing KiSta Ferret Shelter in New Jersey. I've been running the shelter here now for almost 5 years. I've never liked this area, and an opportunity has opened for me back in my hometown of Washington, DC, that I cannot pass up. The cost of living there is so high that I will not be able to continue the shelter in the MD/DC area. Our shelter has 30 adoptable ferrets that I would love to see go to new homes ASAP. I would appreciate any help finding these ferrets homes. Unfortunately, due to the extreme heat, no shipping will be done. If any shelters are able to help, I'd be happy to offer supplies, financial help, cages, carriers...basically anything they'd need, including medical supplies along with any ferrets they would be able to take. I am going to be available this weekend, all weekend if anyone would like to stop by the shelter. I am sorry if this news is upsetting to anyone; as I do not mean it to be. This decision is one of the hardest ones I've ever had to make. Kim Rushing www.kistaferret.com [Posted in FML issue 3455]
