>Well after all that I just wanted to know if any of you good folks have >ever had a fert return to your house after being gone outside a good 10 >hours? We used to be able to let our crew free roam. Usually, by nightfall, they've found a place to sleep so it was not unusual not to see them running about at our bedtime. That Saturday night we went to bed as usual; got up on Sunday and I went out to retrieve the newspaper from the box at the end of our driveway. As I was approaching the front porch, there stood Topaz (AKA Mighty Mouse) waiting for me to come back and let her in. She had been outside all night. I think the only reason she was still in the neighborhood was that I had left an old cage on the porch that I had forgotten to clean and put away, complete with litter box and ferret smells. She likely used that as a "beacon" to find her way home. It was weeks before she could even walk past the door again without shaking. Dick B. [Posted in FML issue 3373]
