I can believe it 4 of my ferts have gone to Rainbow Bridge within the past 3 weeks :-( I had found a lump in Lily's abdomen, an ovarian tumour I thought; she was booked in for spaying this morning. The vet phoned around mid-day to say that he'd found a massive tumour on her liver with secondaries in her spleen, and should he let her wake up... I didn't want to let her go... but in the end I decided that it wouldn't be fair to put Lily though the additional surgery of having 3/4 of her liver removed, spleen and the spay. The vet couldn't guarantee the outcome, the prognosis was not good. Just before Lily went into the see the vet this morning a little girl (probably around 4 y.o.) was cuddling Lily, it was the first time the little girl had seen a ferret. T.D. a rather feisty poley jill and Treacle a sandy hob have moved into Lily's cage to keep Ben and Stumpy company. They all settled down well together. I've got another jill booked in for spaying tomorrow, I've got my fingers crossed that the vet doesn't find anything wrong with Scully. I'll be taking Lily over to N. Yorkshire next week so that she can be with Kurt, Tasha and Larry. Sorry I haven't replied to all of you that wrote to me when I lost Tasha and Larry... I will get around to it eventually... at the moment I keep looking at my gang, several of them are beginning to show their age, and I can help but wonder who will be next :-(( Lily was 6 or 7 years old. -- Sheila Bolton Ferret Welfare & N.F.W.S.
