Pam DeShong was a great lady - before she was very ill, she was the
adoption coordinator for Ferret Rescue of Tidewater and her house was
full of ferrets - something that she loved. I know at times the numbers
reached 50 or more, and anyone visiting her house would have never known
it - her house and her cages were always so clean. We worked together
for many years with FROT, until I formed my own shelter, The Ferret Haven
"By-the-Sea", but we still would talk ferrets on odd occasions during pet
adoption events.

Pam lived her life as we all should - that our actions, not our words speak
for us. She was available to anyone at anytime and would help all who
asked.

She left behind not only a family of loved ones, but also her extended
family of ferret friends. She will be dearly missed and the ferret
community as a whole suffers the loss.
