Ziploc baggies are wonderful for containing odors of animal waste. When scooping boxes insert contents into a ziploc freezer bag and then put the baggie in a plastic sack (walmart, kmart, etc) and tie shut for double odor control, then toss in the trash bag. Identification - I have a list taped to the fridge that has the names of the ferrets and what medications they need but descriptions are a bit more difficult since many sables look alike so finding a distinquishing mark helps. Meethos has a white patch on the bottom of one of his front feet, between his toes, so that serves as an identifier for him. Sometimes it may only be a spot on the nose or a tiny white spot on the chest. Pictures rarely do justice unless the ferret is unique. I do have one other person, Nancy, that is most familiar with the ferrets but we usually do road trips together so if anything happened to both of us, Lynda and Stacey would have their jobs cut out for them. I think a list with names, medications and physical descriptions works best for us. Keeping the list updated is another matter.
