HI ALL Jerimiah here! Woooweee-- are we busy, busy kids here at Ferret Wise! Let me tell you all that is going on-- no wonder shelter Mom is so darned tired-- it is hard getting her smlin the past few days. It seems just as she was so happy that Cornelius was gonna be going to a nice home she sarted notice him walking kind of funny-- so as shelter Dad was talking to lots of nice folks in PA- COrnelius & shelter Mom went to the vets where they took these funny x-eray pictures of him. The vet found he has somefin' called a compressor, er compression fracture of his spine. That sounds like some funny fish to me ya think?-- but anyway that is why he is having a hard time playing I guess fish shouldn't be swimming in a ferret anyway! So Mom now has to give him medicine and keep him quiet in his cage. He sure is a sad looking pup -- he throws the water dish and food dish and messes up the papers on the floor of his cage just wanting to play with us. They is hoping he will get better but I guess the is looking for a tumor that might be in there ( I guess that is the name of this fish) ? Poor ol' Cornelius. Then Rex was feelin' a little left out so he got a UTI infection -- off he went Saturday to the vets with shelter MOm after Cornelius , to get medicine and another lupron shot. I thinks these guys just do these things to play hooky from ferret classes with Jerimiah! Then as if we weren't just as busy as could be -- some really nice folks showed up to meet their new foster ferrets. They brought some toys and such for them , some paper towels & bleach for the shelter and everyone was having a real nice visit. Unfortunately that meant we had to go into our cage so they could all visit! All of a sudden they bought ferret food and left as MORE NEW people came to the shelter. They were askin' lots and lots of questions... seems the lady was wanting a ferret really bad. They got some books and stuff form shelter Mom and she said to call back after they read everything over. Well today shelter Mom hears it is Daniel- the ferret that needs to be an only ferret they would like to move to their house. So Daniel & shelter Mom are planning a visit on next Saturday to see if this will be a good place for him to live. They have cats & I think Daniel will like the cats! :) Casper has to have a adrenal surgery in the AM- I know Mom is hoping he will be okay. He has a hospice home waiting for him with several kitties who live in the room he will live in.. so we are all hopin' that Casper will come back jest fine tomorrow. Shelter Dad said he got to meet lots of folks at the show, and Bear's secret Santa was there-- WOW!! and it isn't even Christmas yet! Bear is right now walking in the upstairs getting his nighttime treat of cheerios & cakes. He has lost lots of weight and is sleepy a lots- but he has some ferrety work to do-- has another column to write and all for Spring-- so he is not ready to chase them butterflies yet! I hear lots of folks bought hammies that Mom sewed and saw the pics on the show- that shows the shelter - DID YOU FIND ME ??? I am the most handsome ferret there you could tell right??? Well Dad also brought home presents for us kids-- MOm gave them to us today after chores. We gotts a big box with ferretone, nutircal, soem soft toys and some really really pretty rolling eggs that make noise. Then there were raisins & cheerios! YOu bet mom gave us a snack party you should have seen us white kids and the brown kids all trying to eat the MOST raisins and cheerios at the same time. Cornelius had to have his own in his cage :( Then Annebelle & Marie got there own box of goodies 'cuz there foster grandpatrents sent these up for everyone she has a boy named Hershey that wanted to share cuz' his Mom reads our stories to him all the time. I really like Hershey he is a kid that has the ADV thing, and some days jes desn't felel his ol self. And it isn't his fault either -- thank goodness his Mom loves him and takes good care of him! I will keep writin' to you Hershey boy! You are a-okay in my book!! All the kids that come to the shelter have to have tests before they get here to make sure they don't have the ADV thing-- I guess that is cuz we could get sick-- and then it would be hard for me to teach all the ferrets their stuff so they can go to new homes! Shelter Mom helps the ADV folks try to fix these sick kids she sews special hammies & tents and donated them for fundraising-- and they are having a special event for an ADV fund raiser at Ferretstock this year! Right now there is some neat stuff at the ebay auctions including: Another of Schnapps' Pizza puss hammies ends 3/30 http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1224474015 collectible plush ermine- almost looks like me- ends 3/31 http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=573085873 A special logo pen with me runnin on it! ends 3/31 http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1126846125 A ferret shaped soap gift set ends 4/1 http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=573453645 finally- A western design Ferretwise Funhouse tent! ends 4/2 http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1225300484 These will help pay the vet for Casper's surgery!
