Hello all,

Hope all fuzzies and their human counterparts are doing well.

I am requesting a little help. Here in R.I. to keep ferrets, you are
supposed to have a Ferret Permit. This piece of paper only lists the
number and gender of your ferrets for an application fee of $10 per fuzzy.
I already have one for one of my guys and am in the process of applying
to make the rest "legal". With the application, the owner is supposed to
provide proof of current rabies vaccination (no problem) and also "proof"
of spay/neuter.

This is where the problem comes in. All my kids come from
shelters/rescues. I have original MF paperwork on one female. All have
the tattoos in their ears. My vet will certify off that my boys are
neutered, but doesn't want to state such for the girls. How can I provide
proof to the State that they are spayed? Do I send them a photocopy of
the ferret's ear?

This proof of spay is the only thing holding up my application. Can't
send it in without it. I need it on two of my little girls. The adoption
paperwork from the shelter doesn't state spayed and they said they have
"no proof" to give me a statement that these babies are spayed.

I really appreciate anyone's assistance. Since I now have quite a crew,
I want to have this permit just to keep them safe from "the law."
