Moose had adrenal surgery Thursday (My first experience with it and I faired far worse than he did! It was his right adrenal and the vet luckily has cryosurgery equipment.) and the vet fed him this soup during recovery. It's far different from any recipe I have seen. The vet and his vet tech said they are still working with it to make it better. Apparently it tastes better than what I have made, because Moose won't eat mine and he wouldn't stop eating this stuff! I would love any thoughts on it. 3 cups dry Iams Kitten food 1 Evening Primrose Oil capsule 1/3 cup Nutra Pet powder 1 Shark Cartilage capsule 1 tab 100mg. Vitamin K 1 capsule dry vitamin E 1/4 tsp. pet tinic 1 tsp lecithin granules 1000mg. vitamin C 1 jar #2 banana baby food(large jar) 1/2 to 1 tsp Brewers Yeast with Garlic Soak dry kitten food in about 4 cups water until soft. Crush tablets into powder and add all ingredients to soft kitten food(take capsules apart and use only powder inside) Add pet tinic and banana baby food. Add about 1-2 cups water to blender jar and about 2-3 cups food mixture and blend until well blended and smooth. Pour into freezer safe containers(I use glad ware containers) One batch of soup should fill about 3-4 containers. After filling freeze all soup you can't use in about 48hrs. (I feed 18 ferrets and one container of soup will last me about a day and a half. I feed about 1-2 tsp. of soup and then mix hot water to thin it to a soupy consistency. The ferrets love it and it is good for them. It is really good when they are recovering from sickness or surgery. See what I mean? Evening primrose oil, shark cartilage, vit. K, and lecithin? What do you all think? Debi [Posted in FML issue 3305]
