I hope anyone wanting the true facts of this situation will contact me personally. Just a few comments. I did not receive notice of the hearing for the lawsuit over Ben and Jeremy. The Duval County Court, Small Claims Court only sends notices by regular mail. Why I didn't get it, I don't know. Why they didn't have it in their computer till December 14th, I don't know. They assume if they do not get the notice returned, it was received by the person it was intended. The Judge did not make his decision based on any evidence but only on my not being there! If you have any doubts, please call the court house yourself. For Barbara's supporters and I was one of them...don't make judgments until you know all the facts and they will become evident. Remember you've only heard what she wants you to hear. Regardless, I'm asking everyone to back off and wait for the final outcome of this case. It is not over, I have filed motions for a re-hearing and for the Final Judgment to be set aside. Let me ask you one thing though. How could I not have loved these wonderful little guys. How would you feel if your ferrets were taken from you abruptly and by surprise. If I did not want them I would have simply given them to Barbara and done away with the court case. I do have witnesses as to who, when and where Ben was surrendered to me and that will become evident. The surrender form in question belonged to the So. Fl. Ferret Club & Rescue, Inc.. Angela gave me many of her forms to use as she has shared with other shelters. Barbara herself gave me the forms and in fact, gave me a computer disk with all the forms so I could edit them with my shelter name. This was last December and I had not done the editing when I got the call on Ben but the friend who picked Ben up for me had some of Barbara's surrender forms, tore off the top and wrote in the Dook Nook. How is that such a crime? Anyhow, please contact me for the truth and I'll provide as much as I can at this time while waiting for another hearing. Hugs to all your fuzzies [Posted in FML issue 3269]
