Hello, I have good news, and I have bad. Lets start with the bad, since its always better to end on a happy note. We had to help one of our shelter ferrets, Tonka, over the bridge today. His kidneys were failing, and he was not responding to anything. It was the kindest thing we could do for him, but very heartbreaking for me since I've been spending so much time with him lately hoping he could recover. At least he's comfortable now, and in good company. Good news, one of the little Christmas rescue girls was spayed today, and she came through with flying colors. She's currently enjoying the plush spoiled girl sick cage in the living room watching tv, right next to Bubbles, the pregnant girl who is also residing in the living room. Jen Hudson & her daughter came over today to help out, and it was the first time I saw 3 of the hobs play. Jen's daughter is amazing with the ferrets, and she had one boy, Johnny Rotten, just dooking and dancing up a storm. Jen even got old Chick Magnet dancing around. That was the happiest sight I've seen all week. Jen brought over a bunch of new bedding and toys for them, and they're all in hog heaven right now, happily shredding the toys, and peeing on their new beds. What more could a boy ask for (other than a nice jill in the cage)? We're bracing for some heavy snow (an unusual occurrence here on the shore), so I will most likely be snowed in with the kids for the weekend, and get to play with them and get them used to people again. Most are just so scared, its heartbreaking. Oh, and of course we'll bring in some snow for the winterwonderland bathtub. I borrowed Jen's camera, so Ill be sure to get some pics of the kids in much more pleasant conditions than the last ones. Hugs all, happy weekend, and happy new year! =20 kim www.kistaferret.com/xmasrescue [Posted in FML issue 3282]
