Sheesh, more crossposting. Deepest apologies. I've received several e-mails over the past few months letting me know that IDG (now known as Hungry Minds) is not the easiest company to deal with in terms of ordering Ferrets for Dummies in quantity. Complaints range from unanswered questions, lack of return phone calls, a high minimum order, lost credit applications, delayed response times and even some denied accounts. I forwarded one e-mail in particular (Joe/The Ferret Store) to my editors who then forwarded it on to the credit manager Dan Kerr. Dan called me this morning and we spoke at great length about the problems I've heard about. Unfortunately, many of the complaints I received were months ago and I no longer have the e-mails. Dan (the credit manager) has asked me to forward all complaints to him personally so that he can look into them and resolve them. He also said he never heard of an account being denied. Sooooo, if you're one of the people who's been trying to open an account with IDG/Hungry Minds in order to stock the books for resale (shelters, online stores, bookstores), please e-mail me with a detailed account of the problem experienced along with your organization name, contact and phone #. I'll forward the e-mails immediately to Dan. We're hoping to help get THEIR company problems resolved, therefore making them easier to work with. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. This will also help to get the book into the mainstream ferret human population. Thanks so much. Kim [Posted in FML issue 3275]
