I have been a casual reader of this list for about a year now, but this is the first time I have contributed. I have several questions that I am hoping to find the answers to. First I have recently purchased an ionizing air cleaner. With four ferrets in an apartment, the upkeep to keep the smell down is extensive, and I thought this machine might help. It filters out dust/dander/pollen/smells and at the same time releases a 'safe' amount of ozone into the air to freshen it. While this level is safe for humans, will it harm my ferrets? Secondly--I have a box of biodegradeable packing peanuts that my fuzzies love to play in. My little female, Minnie, has decided that she likes to lick and chew on these peanuts. Even though they melt away, I want to be sure that these peanuts are safe for her. My last question concerns vets in the Boston area. I have a vet that seems to be pretty good with them (Dr. Borash in Peabody, MA), but I am wondering if any of you in the Boston area have a vet that is a true ferret specialist. As I am actually on the North Shore of Boston any trip into the city that can be avoided is good with the heavy traffic and all. Any help with these three inquiries would be greatly appreciated!
