Dr Williams: I had a ferret diagnosed with Eosinphilic gastroenteritis, Misha. He was 5 years old when diagnosed and was based on biopsied tissue removed from his intestines. If I remember correctly, you did the pathology (Jan 1999). We owned Misha since he was approximately 7 weeks old, and never had any reactions to any vaccinations (Imrab or Fervac). He was my only ferret with this problem - we got his problem under control with ivermectin and prednisolone. Misha also had insulinoma - and so we were never able to wean him off of the prednisone. Misha was a very good ferret and died this past October at age 6 (he would have been 7 in Jan). I hope that this helps anyone that has a ferret with EG.
