Rev Sims: I am grossly offended not only that you trivialize >JD's beliefs but then you "hope and pray" he/she would change them!! I, too, was incensed by Rev. Sim's post. I have thought that many of his posts had no place on the FML. However, I've continually ignored them as he has a right to *his* own beliefs. I wholeheartedly agree with "A Militant Atheist Who Has to Post Anonymously" on this matter! I don't mind reading an off-handed reference about someone else's belief and fine if that is what comforts them but I don't appreciate it being shoved down my throat. I don't appreciate being preached to or read a post that preaches to someone else. (Yes, I realize that I have the option to scroll). I don't need anyone to pray for me in hopes that my heart is "softened" or pray that I change my beliefs. My belief system allows me plenty of hope and joy. >Its one thing to state your beliefs but its another entirely to belittle >or think you have a right to change someone else's on this list. Please... can "we" tone it down a little? Here, here! Let's keep the "in your face" religion off the list, please! Renee [Posted in FML issue 3240]
