I haven't had ferrets long and my little boo has been teething so when I heard about Marshall's Superchew's I went looking for them. well for the past two hours little boo has been chewing and chewing and chewing.. untill he wore himself out!!! Spookey didn;t seem to care for it she sniffed it and then ignored it but she is that way with just about anything, toys, food, the onlything my little Spookey girl will constantly go after are a pair of my dads good shoes :) and sneakers.. but other then that she is simpley not interested in toys or any type of food other then her ferret food and ferretone and ferretvite other then those things the only thing she is remotely interested in eating is.. cheerios which she goes insane for! now here is my question about the ferretvite. I just got a tube of it last week and and read the label and it says for active ferret give 1/4 teaspoon per pound of weight daily so thats what I started to give spookey and boo.. and WOW!!! Diarea everywhere!! needless to say I stopped giviong it to them... poor spookey even stopped eating cause I think it upset her tummy. But neighther one of them eat enough they just seem so much more interested in going insane playing till they are ready to drop that they don;t seem to eat they both go on these hunger strikes and then every couple of days they pig out on food and I have trouble keeping their dish filled... is this normal for ferrets?? thats why I got the ferretvite cause I wanted to make sure they where getting their nutrients but I don;t want to make them have diariha and end up getting dehidrated.. I even went out and bought a second water bottle so that they will drink more to make sure that doesn't happen. I am currently feeding them a mixture of Iams kitten food and 8 in 1 ultrablend for ferrets with daily doses of ferretone. and I only feed them the hard food cause I heard it was better for their teeth to only feed them hard food.. Spookey I am not really all that worried about she seems to be in fairly good health doesn't feel boney and have a nice think healthy coat. but little boo who is only two monthes and a week old has a big tummy but the rest of him feels like skin and bones! the vet seemed to think he was fine but I would like to see him gain some weight. any suggestions? christy Spookey "ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz..."
