Thanks Melissa for adding to the ways to protect electric cords from ferrets. I may put a piece of shower rod cover around some of the multitude of cords coming out of the power strip. I must say though that they just aren't making shower rod covers like they used to. We use those as toppers on our barricaids. They usually keep the ferrets from getting a grip on the edge and hoisting themselves into new territory. Over the weekend I bought a new one at K-Mart and it's a poor quality. Over a shower rod it might be just fine, but stretched onto the square edge of 1 inch thick laminate, it developed a crease. My other shower rod covers are smooth, inside and out but this one has a textured surface on the inner part. So beware of cheap immitations of shower rod covers!
