Hi everyone, I had my three fuzzies to the vet this past week becasue of some coughing and sneezing. They are all doing it, so allergies were ruled out even before I got there. Now they range - Winnie is 4(this past Friday)with Insolumnia, Chloe is 3 (will be 4 in Jan) and so far doing well and Connor is 2(will be 3 in November) with an adrenal tumor since 1.5. They were brought to my dog/cat vet who is familiar with ferrets, but doesn't see them on a regular basis. There are two other specialists that I use, but both relativly far away. Anyway, he feels they both have URI and wants to wait it out. None of them act sick except for teh occasional cough. He said if I wanted he would put them on a decongestant, but was ghoing to call one of the other vets first to see which is best and to make sure my Winnie could have it with her pediapred. I decided that since no one was really acting sick besides the occaisin cough (which kind of sounds like when a human has a drip) that we would see what happens. IT has been a week since then and all are still okay, but still coughing a bit. One thing he said that is that when you press on their throat a bit, they cough which tends to be a sign of URI. I am not doubting his diagnosis by any means, but my questinog to you guys is SHOULD I BE DOING ANYTHIGN ELSE??? He said it could take up to 14 days to go away and I am really not too worreid since we still play and eat very well. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know - especially if there is something else I need to be doing - I don't want to be doing wronhg for them. Thanks, Amy [Posted in FML issue 3195]
