Hello again! Hope this post finds everyone (furry or not) happy and healthy! Big hugs to those with sick or departed fuzzies. Last night I did my first rescue. My sister's friend had a ferret they "had" to get rid of by today (Friday). The mom seemed really nice and genuinely concerned that the ferret was getting enough attention and needed a better home. "Whiskers" was at the moment eating dog food (ugh) but had been eating ferret food (doesn't know which kind) up until recently. She was kept on wood chips (I didn't see if they were cedar but they looked like it). Her nails were sharp as razors & her ears were a bit dirty but otherwise she is absolutely gorgeous! Here's the info: MF (spayed/descented) female less than one year old per the previous owner(s) - to me she looks not even full grown yet. She is a silver mitt. Likes dogs, kids, other ferrets. Loves to play, dook, wardance, you name it! Seems to be litter box savvy although they didn't have one in the cage that I could tell. She used the one in our spare cage last night though. Vaccination history unknown. Doesn't come with anything but the fur on her scruff (cage was in pretty bad shape as was the hammock so I only took the water bottle since ours all leak). I would keep her but Jason (boyfriend) is saying no way ;O( I really wanted a girl too! ARGH!!! The GCFA shelter is full to capacity (as I posted yesterday) so I cannot bring her there, nor do I want to. It's bad enough mine is the third (at least) house she's been in so far, and she might be leaving it soon as well. I am attempting to get her on a mix of TF, Eukanuba Kitten, & Superior Choice that my kids are on, & if she doesn't take to that I'll get a sample of the house mix from the shelter & try that. I live in Elgin, IL about 40 miles west of Chicago. I am willing to transport to surrounding states if necessary. Contact me by phone if interested (847) 841-7033. *hugs n' dooks* Amy & the brat pack ;O) ~~~ Visit Miya, Nina, Rascal, Jack, Joey, & Koty the doggie @ http://www.geocities.com/neenerbean_78 [Posted in FML issue 3219]
