Our BoJangles was just diagnosed with an isolated sarcoma on his scapula. In other words, a tumor on his shoulder causing bone loss. Both our vet. Dr. Kulig , and confering vet. Dr. Edling said the only thing to do was to amputate. It will be his left front leg. Does anyone have any experience with a ferret with an amputation and what I should expect ? As many ferrets as we have had in our shelter he is the first for this particular problem. Surgery is scheduled for Monday. Other than the malformed shoulder, you would never even know he has a problem. He continues to run and play and have a great time. Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
