If anyone has any ideas or clues, please post directly to me at the above address. Cedes (about 6 y.o.) has had diarrhea for two weeks now and we can find no reason for it. It started as green, very watery and mucousy, and explosive. We started him on Metronidazole (Flagyl) and it became brown, not quite as watery and mucousy, and very seedy. It was not formed at all. After about a week, we added pediapred as a diagnostic tool. After five more days, the stools are starting to form a little but are still very soft and seedy. He has had a fecal; nothing there. He had a complete blood workup. Nothing there. Nothing even borderline, everything within normal ranges. He has had a full body x-ray and it all looks fine. No masses can be felt. He has not thrown up (to my knowledge) and other than acting a little puny now and then seems to feel OK. He has lost a great deal of weight, probably 300g (a little under 3/4 lb.). I added two rescues a few weeks ago. They were playing together and eventually housed together. At first we thought it could be ECE but everything we have read is that it usually hits within 48 hours or so after contact. This started about 3 weeks after they came to live here. In addition, my vet said that certain blood values are elevated with ECE normally. I did move all of them into the same cage about 3 days before this started and thought it could be stress but we think he should be over that by now. He plays with the new guys and doesn't seem to be stressed out. Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated. Katharine [Posted in FML issue 3215]
