Hi everyone....A few weeks ago I posted about my roomates ferret who has had diareah all of his life and no one knows why. he had done okay until this past summer where it caused him to lose almost every ounce on his body. He was put on Flagyl and still has diareah but he is putting weight back on. Anyway, we were not concerned about ECE because he has lived iwth my three all his life with the exception of summers because she took him and I took my three home. My guys have never had the slimes for more that a few days which I always took to just be a passing something or other. Anyway, Dief (the diareah boy) was here last weekend adn seem to be very helpful for him/ He got some excitment and started to eat more and want to come out fo his cage. We did keep him in a separate cage and the only interactin was at play time when they were supervised - and were not allowed to eat eachothers food or go into the litterboxes. Anyway, one of my ferrets now (over a week later) has some slime poop. No one acting sick and it is not from all of them because there are plenty of normal poop in the box. If it is ECE that he has: 1) How long would it have taken to see obvious problems with my ferrets? 2) If it is ECE - wouldn't all of my ferrets h ave gotten it? We really dont believe it is that because the only ferret contact that the 4 of them have is with eachother, but I am curious as to what this might be. I am not really concerned yet because no one is acting sick and they are actually eating more than usual these past few days (actually I think that Connor - my deaf adrenal boy who is the cutest thing ever is hiding some food in his fat rolls just in case he runs out or soemthing :-) I really think maybe it is just a little virus or cold or something - my yojngest girl does get this sometimes - always has strange things since the day I got her almost 4 years ago. Okay, sorry for babbling - I really want to just know if anyone thinks this may be ECE even though we can't imagine how becuase of the situatin (by the way, my youngest girl and the diaraeah boy are littermates and are always "odd" about everything. Anyone have any suggestions?? If possible please reply to me as I don't always have time to read thru everything. [log in to unmask] Thanks so much.
