Hi Doug Congrats regarding your recent adoption of Tuck - I wish you many happy years together! : ) Regarding diet, many reputable sources recommend a kibbled food that contains a minimum of 32% protein and a minimum of 18% fat. Poultry and other meats should make up the first few ingredients listed on the bag, while corn and other grains should only appear further down in the list. Popular brands include Totally Ferret, Eight in One Ultimate (not Ultra Blend), the Ferret Store's Superior Choice, and Eukanuba Kitten. You can purchase these and other diets at the Ferret Store: http://www.theferretstore.com The Marshalls diet that you're feeding right now isn't the worst, but it isn't the best either. If nothing else, the fish meal in it stinks and it will make his stools smelly! As for switching Tuck over to one of these healthy diets, you may wish to read the great post at http://listserv.cuny.edu/Scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind9806&L=ferret-search&P=R16880 (note this URL may wrap - be sure to cut-n-paste the whole thing) For a very complete series of posts about ferret diets, see http://www.trifl.org/gravy.html Happy ferreting!
