Corrie, I'm way behind on reading the FML and thought I'd scan some at lunch today......hence, my late answer to your post about rear leg paralysis. I have a little girl, Fidget,....2 yo....that has had mobility problems since April. She's not totally paralyzed, but severely limited. She's weak and drags herself with her front legs, can't climb....it's pitiful to see her try to war dance, but she tries!. I, too, had all kinds of tests run....even did chiropractic which seemed to help for a while. I went from vet to vet and finally took her to an oncologist for an ultrasound. The vet withdrew some blood from her spleen and determined she has lymphoma.....the tumor is apparently putting pressure on her spinal cord. Before going the exploratory surgery route, I chose to try her on prednisone (steroids). The intension was to shrink the tumor (wherever/whatever it is) and relieve the pressure. She also had an injection of L-aspariginase last Wednesday. Apparently it is working because she is up on her feet and running! She isn't as coordinated as before and she tends to topple over, but she is much improved. The vet's opinion is that there will be no cure.....I'm just buying time and, right now, it is quality time. Hope this information gives your friend a direction to search. Lack of results causes worry and endless futile attempts to find an answer. Fidget's answer might not be a good one, long term, but at least now I know. Best Wishes....... Paula.....andFidget&Fannie [Posted in FML issue 3182]
