Marvin died in his sleep on 28th July - we were taking part in the ferret display at the CLA Game Fair at Blenheim Palace. Marvin was laid to rest under one of the ferret play pens... I guess he was around 8 y.o. Claude was helped on his way to the Bridge on the 5th August at the Brecon Agricultural Show. I'd been keeping a careful watch on him since March. He'd been showing his age, stiffness in the back legs, sleeping more than usual but he was eating, drinking and having a little wander around. On Saturday he took a sudden turn for the worse, we asked for help from the on site vet. Explained the problem to him, he returned 10 minutes later with the necessary injection and Claude was soon asleep. The vet was absolutely marvellous, I never found out his name but he was really gentle with Claude and even offered to finish digging the grave that I had started. He also refused to take any payment for helping Claude on his way... just dismissed it as all part of the service. The day before Claude was pts I took a digi photo of a rainbow from just about the spot where Claude is now resting... I wonder if it was an omen. -- Sheila Bolton Ferret Welfare.
