Today, my staff took in two ferrets that some lady got from us over 1 year ago. They are two beautiful canadians. Her reason in writing is as follows" I have children who are young and I'm sick and tired of seeing them trying to have anal sex with each other". Really, this is true. Now, when we do adoptions we also do a lot of education. But somewhere in our program we forgot to include the " Ferret Sex Ed" class! We also encourage our clients to call us 24-7 for any thing they might construe as being wrong with their ferrets. This person never called to ask a question about this bizarre bx, she just brought them in and dumped them, They are both really sweet. In her letter, she kept going back to the sex thing! Finally, she had the nerve to have them ask me if I could possible trade those two for just one. Today, I sent her my response in a letter. Dear xxxxx, Thank you so much for bringing your ferrets to Especially Ferrets to surrender. I assure you that they will be well cared for until we can find a good home for them. As for the the anal sex thing, ferrets are not cabable of committing sodomy, either mentally or physically. That bx maam is all in your head. Had you taken the time to call us as we recommend anytime your ferret is doing something you don't understand, you would have found out just what they were really doing and would still have your ferrets and they would still have the family they love so much. They will now have to understand why they have been abandoned by you and we will spend that time teaching them that not all humans think as you do. As for your request to own another of our ferrets, not a chance. You are declined an adoption from us for the following reasons. 1) you did not keep their shots current as required. 2) you changed them to a cheap cat food and violated our contract once again by not feeding them TF. 3) you have been letting your ferrets watch you engage in sex and that is something we would never let our ferrets do. Good luck with your other pets! Sincerely, Randy Horton Director/ Especially Ferrets Inc. Give your ferrrets guidance in life as you wouldn't want them to have any of our bad habits. Hugs to all, Ferretguy [Posted in FML issue 3134]
