Ferret Cages: I want only the best for my boys, so I buy only the best. Unfortunately, I have learned, most expensive does not mean best. I brought my fuzzies home (from the local Las Vegas Petco) on April 18, 2000. I spent $1000 for the 2 boys, the cage, food, litter, (a case full of expensive - non played with still-toys), bed, blankets, carrier etc. I bought the large black cage with the elbow tubes going up to 4 floors. After 6 weeks, I realized my boys were not climbing the cage. I went to Petco to speak with Erin, the ferret pro, and she informed me that ferrets do not like climbing those tubes as gerbils do. I then ordered ramps on-line and replaced the tubes. The first day they both went up the ramps. Unfortunately, they also both fell down the cage, hitting their sweet little heads on the way down. I have since added 3 LARGE hammocks to catch/prevent their falls. My guys have their own room, so they only go into the cage on their own to sleep in their hammocks. I just wanted to share my cage experience with those that might be pondering cage options. Hocus & Pocus' Mommy in Las Vegas [Posted in FML issue 3142]
