There are ways to help ferrets at these shelters even if you can't adopt another ferret. Call the shelter and ask to be called if the ferret isn't adopted. In the meantime try to find a home for the little one just in case he/she comes to you. Be sure to let those people know that he/she might get adopted or send them to the shelter to adopt him/her. If the ferret does get adopted by someone else, these people can put their name on a list in case another ferret comes in. You may end up temporarily housing/loving/caring for the little one(s) but at least you'll know that they weren't euthanized because they didn't find a home in a certain number of days. I do realize that not everyone can do this but thought I'd throw out the idea for those that might be able to. I try to think like a ferret, in the sense of now and try not to worry about the later till the time comes. Hugs to all. tle Troy Lynn Eckart Ferret Family Services http://www-personal.ksu.edu/~sprite/ffs.html http://www.geocities.com/Petsburgh/Haven/5481/ Please sign up to support our charity http://www.iGive.com/html/ssi.cfm?cid=46&mid=58395 [Posted in FML issue 3141]
