Well, I finally got my DEW--little Jill of Jack and Jill fame from Ferret Aid in Toronto. I am so psyched--and can't believe these people drive so far (10 hours to get to me) to bring ferrets to loving homes! In honor of her soulmate Jack, who recently died, Jill has been renamed Rose (as in the Jack and Rose couple from the Titanic). I call her my little Rosebud, she is tiny and delicate. Everything but her teeth, that is! Both my daughter and I have had chunks taken out of our hands, and she attacked my feet and my cat this morning too. Paige thinks she's nervous, scared, and all that, and who could blame her. We have given her lots of hugs and kisses (she's fine around faces, thank god!), and are keeping her from the other ferrets for a while. My little Molly shakes when she smells or sees Rose. So, I'd love to hear everyone's success stories in integrating scared, biting ferrets into their homes, just so I know there's always light at the end of the tunnel :-) As for the TF problem, back in the spring, people might remember me writing in total despair over my ferrets' mysterious diarrhea, which no amount or type of medication could clear up. Turns out it was a bad bag of TF. I called to tell them this, they replaced the bag and just asked me to send them a sample of the bad stuff so they could test it. I never heard from them after that, but I do know the bad batch I had was not of the same date other people have been complaining about. I got pretty nervous when I just finished another bag of TF and had to open a new one--paranoid now. So far so good though, this batch is dated July 2001. debbi, MollyDoll, Merlin, Casper, and little Rose [Posted in FML issue 3115]
