Hi. We where sitting last night and talking about our ferrets, and it came up that Simba, the bigger (but younger) one of the two always bite certain people. I think the proper term would be "to hold he's teeth against someones skin", cause he doesn=B4t try to chew. He just latches on and holds it. And he always lets go if I say "no" with a deep voice. That would actually be "Nej" (Swedish) :) Since the fuzzies are both rescues I started a theory that he might have been abused by someone resembling those people that he bites now... After thinking about it fore some time we saw a pattern, and the pattern was biting smokers. Simba hates my mother, as soon as she tries to interact with him, he bites. And she smokes from time to time. He also latched on to some other people the other day, and it turned out that they smoke as well. So either he doesn't like the smell of someone who has smoked, or he has negative memories of that smell. Is there anyone else that has observed this behavior? My first thought was that he didn't like the smell. /Mattias ___________________________________ Mattias Lindstrom Abylundsvagen 241 SE-137 32 Vasterhaninge Tel: +46-8-50 02 02 10, +46-70-625 40 93 Fax: +46-706 10 40 50 [log in to unmask] http://come.to/reptilen for reptile information in Swedish http://go.to/familjehem for foster care information in Swedish http://www.egroups.com/group/kameleonter for information regarding chameleons in Swedish [Posted in FML issue 3125]
