Looks like we very likely have an answer on 7 and 5/6 years old Meeteetse's sporadic urinary and fecal incontinence, rear leg weakness, and rear foot coolness. X-rays showed calcification which should not be there at part of the lower back. As time went on it seemed less and less likely to be the insulinoma because it didn't change positively over reasonable spans of time, then tried to see if she might have an infection or if she was reacting badly to the Pred, but that wasn't consistent, either, in results. No one really expected the x-rays to be able to spot anything even if it was there, but... She lost her bladder on the vet, but then that is why she was there, as he noted. Lost her bowels on me this morning. Anyway, the old lady has already been given a back bathroom because the cage is too vertical for her now, papers for when she can reach them as a bathroom spot because litter is to hard for her to stand on. There are towels on the bathroom floor to add traction and because we can just pull them up and wash them as much as needed. I've saved the ferret wheelchair info in case it comes to that but hopefully this will stabilize for her sake. She's even gotten past the point of acting upset when she goes on us; must realize that we know that she can't help it. The good news is that there is still no sign of anything like lympho involved. That's a big good thing. Neither her recent ultrasound nor her recent blood tests looked indicative of that, either. Meeteetse and Seven of Six have become best friends, and she has discovered bell-ball playing by following Seven's lead so the old girl has a new trick. She still loves tubes, crinkle sacks, walking all over (even if she does leave puddles and piles behind), kissing and hugging, eating, etc. etc., etc. Just is an old lady with some medical problems.
