To Michele and the FMLers: There is something you can do when this happens. It is called leaving a paper trail. You must get written proof concerning the blood sugar levels in Bandit as well as all Doctor's charts. The lack of action on the original vet's part must be documented as well, and you must prove the misdiagnosis lead to Bandit's death. You must also provide written proof concerning what a normal and abnormal blood sugar level is in a ferret. And, this is not as hard as you think. After you gather your material, send it (via certified mail, with the certification number typed on the letter) on to the "ombudsman" type group in your state (where the vet got his license to be a vet), and copying this letter to the vet who misdiagnosed Bandit's condition. In the letter, you should not have to mention the fact there is a payment dispute. I do not know, however, what kind of action will be taken. You may call the American Veterinairy Association and find out in the event there is a misdiagnosis which leads to the death of an animal, what kind of action is in order, or what. You may also threaten the first vet, in writing, to countersue for your ferret and for the pain and suffering you have had since Bandit's misdiagnosis and imminent death. Hope this helps you and others. Just be strong and more vocal, ie communicative. legally, for the brats, and their hoomans, Sarah Buck owned by Portia, Stela, and Max, who all belong to the FLO and have a "contract" out on mommie's life.....
