This morning Warp was able to eat her first meal in a horizontal position, a slurry of A/D and water. For the next 24 hours she will continue with soft food this way to make sure that her regurgitation is past. Then, if so, tomorrow she can try hard crunchies again to see if they settle okay. She has gained some more weight, and is fighting her meds well. The pharmacy is waiting for the Metronidazole but sometime from today to Wed. Warp will have that compounded with flavoring to make it easier than the stuff I'm working up, along with her next bottle of amoxi (very high dose but it's working) compounded with another flavoring to make that easier, and if they have powder pepto they are even going to compound that with a flavor. The stress reduction should be helpful. She's a nervous individual -- even when she's slightly happy she vibrates like a old-fashioned motorized motel bed so imagine when she's nervous -- so reducing her stress level will be good. Her first six months before she came her were very hard ones so she's always been a very reactive individual. (No biting or anything -- just a lot of tension on her part in relation to a day's events -- either very, very happy or very, very nervous depending on the day.) We know there's another med combo option, but this one historically works well and with her existing medical problems it's the better combo. [Posted in FML issue 3074]
