I just wanted to thank everyone who emailed me with suggestions on how to
make our existing ferret's adapting to our new baby ferret much smoother.

Unfortunately, it seems that the baby MF ferret we brought home was a
carrier of the E.C.E. virus, which our Furfie had never been exposed to.
We rushed Furfie to the emergency room on Saturday night and she's been on
an I.V. for two days. She seems to be making an incredible recovery, so
although we'll need to watch her closely, we're sure she will make it
through this fine.

Now, we will be keeping the two in seperate cages for some time, and were
wondering if anyone knows the dangers we face in the future. Can the baby
re-infect our Furfie? What else should we watch for as Furfie recovers?
I've heard about E.C.E. "recovered" ferrets becoming ill again, or losing
weight.

Any information or personal experience would be of great use! Please email
privately to [log in to unmask] and thank you again!
