Condolences to those with sick or angeled couch spelunkers... I've been reading about some of you who have a grand old time trying to clean out cages whilst your fur-freaks ravage you, the cleaning materials, etc. Well, there's a trick to cleaning cages safely, without being bothered by loose fang-faces. Clean the cages just before you put them back in. Do this every time you clean. Immediately after cleaning, put them back in their cages (after they've had their "roaming" time). You will find that the act of cleaning cages sends (most of) them flying to parts unknown (a.k.a. their hidey-holes!) from where you'll have to recover them! Works like a charm at my house! Instead of becoming an activity in which they can participate, they will see the cage-cleaning activity as a reason to leave you completely alone! :) Todd and the (Hey! You've been tricking us!)
