I really wish that I could post more often- but I do want you to know that I do read every post- even if it's two days later! LOL. Anyways- Charlie seems to finally be recovering. He has eaten dry kibble, on his own for the past two days. He is actually, as I write this, beating up on Popcorn! His stool is normal again- so the ECE seems to have resided and the hair on his belly is already growing back from surgery. Norman is another story.. I had another vet at the same clinc do a Cryosentesis (taking urine directly from the bladder). His WBC was 60-65!! (normal is >5). So- we sent it off for a culture. We should know in 3-4 days. He is acting much better- his hair all grew back and he's active- just his WBC keeps rising in his urine... we'll see. A few questions.. I was playing "how many ribs does a ferret have" with Sampson (basically tickling him as he grunted and puffed) but he war danced away before I coul count... so for the record.. how many ribs DOES a ferret have? Also- we are ECE contagious, basically considered to be forever. Yet, if anyone studied any of our babies, they would never know this. My question is to the shelters. I was reading all the posts about incubation and I was wondering what you do about ECE. A big shelter down here (in Miami) just shut down due to ECE- so if you are not yet contaminated- how do you kepp from being?? Dooks to all. My heart goes out to all those lost in the past few weeks. Some times I can't read the posts because I'm crying already and I have to come back to them. What a winderful place this is (the FML) where we can express our pain and get such comfort from doing so!! Take care all- you AND your fuzzies!!! -Michelle and the frenzied 11 [Posted in FML issue 3035]
