I read many postings about the need for ferret related products. Some are really expensive, so I hope you all won't mind a few money saving ideas for ferret stuff! #1 Door Barriers-- go to the local hardware store and get a pc of plexiglas 1/8th thick and two inches wider than the opening of the door. After cutting to size, bend to fit in doorway. Keeps fuzzies in the room you want them and you can see into the room and tell what they are doing easily. Many complain about fuzzies scratcing up the rug at doorways. Go to you office supply store and get a floor mat for desk chairs on carpet. Cut one end to resemble a half circle and slide under door. Will fit all doors and protect carpet for years. Doesn't look to bad either. Refrigerator magnets--Sam and Vicky Bishop have been ferret lovers forever and they make a lot neat little things for the fuzzies. They have quite a few to support too! Check 'em out! Tubes- those multi-colored dryer tubes can tear pretty easily, especially in the summer when the heat makes them softer. The are expensive to buy . You can make them last longer buy taking where it's torn and cutting the tear out, put duct tape around the sharp edge so it doesn't poke anybody and snap a plastic tube collar on it. They actually look neater and are better ventilated with more collars on them anyway! food feeders--We recommend that you not use the feeder bins that some other animals use. Some times the little rascals dig out there food and waste it. what they have after eating it out of a bowl is a bunchof crumbs. We save all of our crumbs in coffee cans and take them to the local hospital and feed them to the birds and squirrels. We used to feed here, but they would congregate in such numbers and the mess was just another to clean up. Hope this posting helps! Hugs to all, ferretguy ps crumbs from the sick get thrown away!
