I've been taking note of the latest string of posts that are requesting a change of the name for a group of ferrets... and I must tell you that I still like the term "business" and here's why: Ferrets, being extremely inquisitive by nature, make it their "business" to investigate everything. They make it their "business" to find out what's at the bottom of my plant pots; they make it their "business" to find out just how many clothes they can rearrange in a single afternoon; they make it their "business" to find out what is at the top of my clothes closet and just how many clothes they have to climb to get there; they make it their "business" to see just how hard they can bite and how fast they can get away before being caught; they make it their "business" to see how much trouble they can get into before they hear my footfalls coming down the hall; they make it their "business" to investigate the refrigerator everytime the door is open; they make it their "business" to collect as many balled up socks as they can and to distribute them anywhere but in the sock drawer; they make it their "business" to find the latest hiding spot for the linatone... The list goes on and on.... I like the term "business" but I must admit it did throw me initially when I first heard it. But after I thought about it for awhile, I thought it is a very fitting term. One final thought... they also make it their "business" to love unconditionally... betty and her blur o'fur [Posted in FML issue 3010]
